The magic price to market your ebook.

Have you ever wondered why all those products on TV all cost $19.95?  How about why used car dealers...excuse me, "preowned" car dealers offer $199 down $199 a month?

It's an often used and very successful marketing concept. The idea is that certain numbers set off alarm bells in a buyers mind and by shaving a penny or two off the price we can avoid these alarm bells. A person will wrinkle his brow and wonder if that fancy kitchen gadget is worth $20, but he will be franticly dialing the phone credit card in hand for the low low price of $19.95. What a bargain.

Believe it or not sales figures seem to support this idea. Shave a few pennies off the round dollar amount and people are more likely to buy from a TV ad, however this doesn't work in all forms of marketing.

When buying in person people appear to prefer round numbers. For instance. I have a friend who sells knockoff tennis shoes at flea markets. Don't laugh. He quit his regular job because he makes more in a weekend at the flea market than he did in a 40 hour week.

Anyway he dicovered that the magic price for knockoff tennis shoes at a flea market is $20. Any more and buyers huff and go "I might as well go to the shoe store for these prices." Any less and they question the quality of the shoes, Look them over again and agian, then walk away without buying.

I won't make a value judgement about peoples' behavior. The object is to make sales, not judge your customers right? The simple fact is for every product and service there is a magic price that a customer will readily pay with almost no selling on your part.

I won't even try to guess why, but for ebooks that price appears to be $7. You have probably by now seen the rash of $7 dollar ebooks everywhere. On marketing web sites and blogs and all over the web. For some unknown reason $5 is too low and 8$ is too high.

Does it really matter why? As marketers we don't need to question why. We find what sells and stick with it until it doesn't sell anymore.

If the public will pay $7 without flinching who am I to question them?

Maybe it's because $5 is not a lot of money these days. So if it cost $5 it must not be any good or it would cost more. But then $10 is double digits. Hold on here $10, I could get two fast food lunches for that.

Okay, I am guessing why, but the point is, $7 is the magic price for an ebook. Atleast for now it is.

The 5 Ws Of Ebooks

Anyone browsing the Internet for information quickly encounters ebooks. Sometimes those electronic books are clearly identified by name and intent but other ebooks are so cleverly disguised that a reader may not even realize they are actually a book and not a web site or some other electronic document.

What exactly is an ebook? An ebook is simply an electronic book. Many ebooks today are found in pdf (or portable document format) but you can also find various word processing documents being used as ebooks as well as programs and text files that serve as ebooks. There are also some unique programs that create ebooks in a format specific to that program.

Ebooks (just like their print relatives) are documents containing words in a convenient package. Ebooks do also have the ability to secure or protect access, which means sometimes you can't print an ebook or copy it while others can be copied and shared easily.

While many professional publishing companies now create electronic as well as traditional books, many ebooks are now created by individuals or small organizations. The readers who use ebooks are just as varied as those who create them. You can find electronic books in physical and electronic libraries and bookstores as well as throughout the Internet.

Ebooks are used to share information, teach, entertain, and sell or promote -- just as are their print counterparts.

Ebooks have many advantages over print books. They are much more inexpensive to produce and can move from idea to finished product much more quickly as well. This also makes ebooks much easier and more cost-effective to keep updated. In addition, ebooks allow greater interactivity with the reader and the Internet.

However print books still retain the advantage in some areas. Some ebook formats are restricted in use to specific types of computer programs, web browsers or operating systems. Also, while computers and electronic devices are pervasive in much of the modern world there are still areas where a print book is more convenient or feasible.

For Internet marketers, ebooks can serve a variety of purposes. Ebooks can be created and packaged as commodities to sell, but for many Internet marketers, ebooks that are given away are a much more powerful tool. Creating useful ebooks that share free information that is attractive to a specific target audience can be a powerful viral marketing tool.

Creating an useful free ebook can help provide valuable advertising for any Internet marketer by establishing credibility and expert status which may well lead the reader to then visit the author's web site and/or sign up for a newsletter. Some ebooks are created with a "soft sell" approach to achieve that goal while others use a "hard sell" approach and go for a sale within the book itself. If you create an ebook that includes valuable information that can be freely exchanged with others then it can, and will be circulated around the Internet and continuously work to promote its creator's web site and products.

Ebooks can be a very valuable Internet marketing tool.

How To Sell More of Your Ebooks Online

Have you written an e-book? An e-book is a digital document that can be sold online in a purely digital form. Thus, unlike with selling a physical product, the fulfillment of an e-book is done completely online. This is great for you, the author, since you can completely automate the order taking and fulfillment processes.

Once you have the fulfillment process automated, the question becomes how to market the e-book online in order to get people to buy it. “How do I effectively market my e-books online?” is one of the most common questions I hear from my clients. Here are five tips that will help you sell more of your e-books and generate more revenue:

- Find a target market to sell the e-book to. Many people think that everyone is their target market, and as a result try to sell their e-book to everyone. They usually end up chasing after potential customers who are not in their target market and are not likely to ever purchase the book. Their e-book sales suffer as a result.

Instead of trying to sell your e-book to everyone, concentrate on a smaller group of people who comprise your target market. These people are much more likely to purchase what you have to offer, and as a result you will get many more sales.

- Create an effective sales letter for your e-book. Since you cannot take a picture of your e-book and post it on your web site (unlike a piece of jewelry, for example), your need to use the sales letter to promote the e-book.

Make sure that your sales letter effectively describes your e-book and focuses on the benefits your clients will get by purchasing your e-book. Highlighting the benefits will keep people reading the sales letter, and it will generate more e-book sales.

- Give your customers just a few options on your web site. Sometimes clients tell me that their sales letters don’t sell.  When I take a look at the sales letters, they are usually a big mess. Sales letters that do not sell contain too many distractions for the reader: they have links to other web pages and web sites, banners, and text ads for other products.

Make sure that your sales letter provides only a few options to your customers – an option to buy the product and an option to subscribe to your newsletter, and that’s it. The fewer options you give to your web site visitors, the more likely they are to buy your product.

- Have a newsletter subscription on your web site. Sometimes people who come to your web site and see your e-book are not ready to purchase the e-book. However, they are ready to subscribe to your newsletter and learn more about you and your products. These people will be ready to buy your e-book eventually, so make sure that you keep in touch with them through your newsletter.

- Use online marketing techniques to promote your e-book further. Use search engine optimization, business blogging, article publishing and other online marketing techniques to promote your web site and e-book. These methods will bring more visitors to your web site, who are craving the information that you share in your e-book.

You can only make money with your e-book if you sell it. Follow the five tips that we discussed to sell more e-book copies and make more money.

How To Make Money Selling Ebooks

Many people have told me that they want to make money by selling ebooks, but they don't want to write an e-book. If this describes you, I have great news for you! You can still make money by selling e-books written by other people by using affiliate marketing.

What is affiliate marketing? Affiliate Marketing is an agreement between a merchant (the person who wrote and owns the ebook) and you (an affiliate). You agree to use your web sites and blogs to promote the merchant's e-books and to link to the merchant's web site. In exchange for this, the merchant pays you a commission on all sales that were generated by the affiliate web site. A referral occurs when a customer clicks on your product link and makes a purchase.

So now that you know what affiliate marketing is, start looking for a few affiliate products that you would like to sell. You might already know someone whose ebooks you would like to sell, and who has an affiliate program. In this case, just register for this person's affiliate program, get your affiliate links and start promoting the e-books.

If you don't know of anyone who has e-books and an affiliate program that you can use to sell them, just use your favorite search engine to find them. For example, if you are looking for e-books on gardening that have an affiliate program, just type in gardening e-books affiliate program into search engines. Chances are, you will find what you are looking for.

Once you find e-books that you would like to promote, start promoting them. Here is information to help you promote them:

Create good web marketing copy for the e-books on your web site. It is not enough to list the e-books on your web site and then link to the seller’s web site. The people who come to your web site are not looking for links to other sites; rather, they are looking for useful information for themselves. Having useful information on your web site increases the changes of your web site visitors buying the e-book, and will generate affiliate commissions for you.

Once you have good web site copy, start promoting your web site online and drive traffic to it. One way to do that is by optimizing the site for search engines. Search engine optimization is the process of modifying web page content and meta-information to improve the search engine ranking of the page. Successful search engine optimization will greatly increase the number of visitors that come to your web site. The more visitors to the web site you have, the more affiliate products you will be able to sell, and the more money you will make. Make sure you optimize every page of your web site for search engines, especially the ones that provide the information about the e-books and sell the e-books; that way you will get more web site visitors.

Another way to drive more traffic to your web site is by creating a blog to promote it. A blog is your business diary, in which you share the information about your web site, as well as the e-books you are promoting. Your blog is an excellent tool to let the world know about the affiliate products and to connect with potential customers who would want to purchase them.

In order to bring the most online traffic and make money with your blog, make sure that your blog consistently and create blog posts that are of interest to your past as well as potential customers. Regular posts that are interesting to read is what will keep your readers coming back and buying from you.

Use the tips discussed above to make money selling e-books written by others. That is an excellent way to make money online.

E-books as Your Best Asset

Thinking of starting a business online? Not sure what type of product to sell or to promote?  Well, I was just reading an amazing E-book that shared some very simple concepts that anyone can implement, and they start with having one thing, an E-book.

Information is constantly being distributed and passed around for free on the internet.  One can read free internet articles on how to trade stocks, or how to improve your golf swing, but those articles don’t always give you a step by step guide to learn all the tricks.  People are now relying on information that will help guide them in doing a highly specialized trade, like trading stocks, repairing vintage automobiles, or losing weight.  There are many paper books available that will teach people how to do these things, but much of the time, people are going to the internet to find solutions and find current information on specialized trades.

Let’s look at some reasons why an E-book can be a great asset:

1.    An E-book is digital, and can be kept online at a website, not at a warehouse.

2.    It can only be downloaded from a website 24/7 and as it is totally secure, it cannot be passed around the internet as a free un-secure article.

3.    One has to buy an E-book to read it.  It can only be read after it is paid for.

4.    Once an E-book is created an E-book, it is forever available.

5.    After writing the E-book, the work is done, and it can constantly make money for you.  Of course, the more it is kept updated, and the more E-books one has, the more profit potential there is.

6.    When an E-book is sold, the customer does not have to wait for it.  It’s delivered to them instantly, and they can conveniently store it on their computer or laptop, so it is available to them more easily.

7.    Paper Books take about a year to get published and cost a lot of money in printing, postage and handling. E-books have no publishing cost, and can be delivered through the internet saving time and money on postage and handling.

8.    There are very simple and sophisticated internet marketing tools to drive traffic to ones website for people to buy the E-books.

9.    E-books can always be revised and kept updated as fast as one can create new content.  This makes E-books more current than a normal paperback.

10.     An E-book can be bought forever.  This gives it an unlimited profit potential.

So, think about spending some extra time and compile a 30-100 page E-book, that is high quality, and gives the customer great value.  The time spent doing this can create a steady income stream forever.  When we start thinking about moving our mindset from trading our time for money, to having our assets work for us, we start to shift from having to always work for our money, to letting our E-books work for us.

Ebooks Are Raking It In

Have you always wanted an unlimited income that you didn't have to leave the comfort of your own home for? Have you ever thought about becoming a writer, and publishing books? Well, many people have become well-known authors, and have made quite a bit of money writing books, but it seems that even more are making a lot more money writing ebooks.

Ebooks can be a very valuable asset. Let me just list a few of the reasons why they have become so popular. First of all, paper books take what seems an eternity to get published, not to mention that it costs quite a bit of money in printing, and postage, and handling, and stuff. Ebooks do not have a publishing cost, plus ebooks are digital. They can be emailed to your client directly, or they can download the ebook from your website, giving them instant gratification, which everyone loves. They are also digitally stored, so you don't have all kinds of books cluttering up your house.

Ebooks also stay there, on the internet, indefinately, if you will, making money for you, while you sit back, on the beach, contemplating what you will be writing your next ebook about. That's right, you can just relax while your ebook sits on your website, making you money. Many people are just raking in the dough from ebooks today. But, you will need to use some tools (there are links on my website to access these tools) to make sure that there is enough traffic being directed to your site.

There are all sorts of ways to bring traffic to your site, like writing articles, (like the one written here), using autoresponders, and buying mailing lists. My mentors, whom I have links to on my website, offer many tools and tips for driving traffic to your site. One tip is to build the customers trust, by offering plenty of free stuff. Free PDF files are a hot item to offer for free, because people can pass them around freely, appealing to more of a mass market. And any computer with Adobe Reader, (which can be downloaded for free), can read these types of files.
PDF files are also considered valuable to search engines, thus making it easier for customers to find your site.

There are many other ways to get traffic to your site, and many other methods of making money online, but writing ebooks is one of the easiest, and most profitable ways. E-Books: Using Their Power

Have you ever wondered why e-books are so popular? Could anyone write and publish one? These are a couple of questions that we  will answer today.

Nowadays you can find e-books everywhere on the internet. There are  even libraries where you can download them directly to your computer. While some e-books are free, because they are in public domain, there are some that are written specifically to boost advertising.

It is well known that everyday people log on to the internet in search of information and the best way of giving it to them is through e-books as they are quickly and easily delivered. Their contribution to the marketplace is one of the forerunning advertisement methods in use today.

How to use e-books to promote your business?

When you offer free e-books to those people who visit your site you are allowing them to know more about the product/service you are promoting. By writing on a topic that you are familiar with you set yourself as an authority in your particular field.

Surely you are wondering how to get an e-book written for your customers to help boost the traffic and sales of your website. Can anyone write an E-Book ? YES. Even if you consider you don’t have what it takes to be a writer, if you try you’ll see that it is not that difficult. The main idea is to write about something you are familiar with, to find the perfect niche for your business. If you love video games, then write about video games; if you are good at fishing write about fishing techniques – you get the picture. When the readers see that you are an expert they will develop a trust in you and they will be more eager to do business with you.

After your e-book is finished all you have to do is convert it to a PDF format. You can use any PDF converters that are available on the internet.
Now that you have this knowledge I recommend getting started as quickly as possible. Remember – Time is Money
